I’ve just released a new version of my M-209 cipher machine simulation software:
This release includes the following changes:
- Improved key table formatting: Lug numbers are now printed as set in the machine from left to right, rather than in numerical order. The old way confused some people.
- Improved verbose debugging output: While using the software to work on an M-209 cryptographic challenge, I found that the old output format wasn’t quite helpful enough.
- Added new flags –version, -V, and –help.
- Revised manual page and built-in help to point users to the GitHub repository for updates.
Other releases of this software are available on GitHub.
