New Release 1.3 of M-209 Simulation Software

I’ve just released a new version of my M-209 cipher machine simulation software:

This release includes the following changes:

  • Improved key table formatting: Lug numbers are now printed as set in the machine from left to right, rather than in numerical order. The old way confused some people.
  • Improved verbose debugging output: While using the software to work on an M-209 cryptographic challenge, I found that the old output format wasn’t quite helpful enough.
  • Added new flags –version, -V, and –help.
  • Revised manual page and built-in help to point users to the GitLab repository for updates.
