I've finally gotten off my lazy behind, learned Morse code, and upgraded my ham ticket so that I can get my green rigs up on HF. On 4/19/03, I walked in to the VEC testing session a no-code Tech, and walked out an Amateur Extra! I bit later, I changed my callsign from KE6MYK to NF6X via the Vanity Callsign program.

Here's a picture of my radio bench, including an AN/GRC-19, an AN/VRC-10, an AN/PRC-70, and some modern civilian gear. An Astron RS-50M 12V 50A power supply provides 12 volt power, and a pair of Astron LSRM-35M 28V 35A power supplies operated in parallel provide 28 volt power. The 12V supply is on top of the AN/GRC-19, and the 28V supplies are in a rack on the left side of the bench.

The AN/GRC-19 consists of an R-392 receiver and a T-195 transmitter. My set has the newer T-195B transmitter, which has solid-state power supplies (the older model has dynamotor supplies). My T-195B "only" draws about 32A at 28VDC, compared to the rated 42A of the older model.

Here are some more pictures:

Eventually, I'll transfer my main operating point into my new S-448 communications shelter.
